Special Group Visits Highlands Center for Autism

6/21/2010

A group of medical specialists from around the country visited eastern Kentucky for the RAM Expedition this week and made a stop at the Highlands Center for Autism. The U.S. Public Health Services Commissioned Corps is made up of physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, scientists, researchers, and other specialists. As America’s uniformed service of public health professionals, their mission is to advance the health and safety of our Nation.

The group was addressed by Melissa Vance, Highlands Community Development Director, and Dr. Shelli Deskins, Director of the Highlands Center for Autism. They enjoyed getting a tour of the Center and were impressed with the student progress.
