Prestonsburg – Highlands Center for Autism was honored to be part of the 5th Annual United Mountain Ladies Auxiliary Charity Horse Show, held June 11 and 12, 2010 at the Stone Crest Horse Show Facility in Prestonsburg. Funds raised at the gate on Saturday will be earmarked to help students attend the Center.
“We cannot express sufficient appreciation to the volunteers and participants in the horse show,” Highlands Center for Autism Director Dr. Shelli Deskins said. “The Ladies’ Auxiliary has, once again, done an outstanding job which will benefit many in our community.”
Highlands Center for Autism students range in age from earliest diagnosis through school age. The Center targets academic, adaptive social, behavioral and communicative needs. Highlands Center for Autism is the only center-based program in Kentucky using Applied Behavior Analysis treatment in a clinical educational setting.
